Having a vision is seeing tomorrow from today and seeing the ultimate purpose of God for your life or existence. A VISION gives direction, motivates, prioritize your life, time and disciplines your actions and behaviors.
When writing a vision, your must determine your goals:

Habakkuk 2:2 Write the VISION and make it plain, so that he may run who reads it. For the VISION is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it, because it will surely come, it will not tarry.
