IN CRISIS?

LUKE 6:47-49

As for everyone who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice, I will show you what they are like. They are like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built. But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete.”

In times of crisis, we may see the lives of others or maybe even our own life may seem as if it is crumbling from the weight of uncontrollable circumstances. There is a preventative measure that is set up to guide us through such unforeseen adversities. Luke chapter 6, tells us to be a wise builder. There will be crisis in life, but in order to be a wise person, we must build upon a secure foundation. How? Day after day we must seek God’s word and his instruction for our lives and decide to never make a move

without his prompting. He will speak to us through his word and guide us into all truth.

We are required to maintain and be devoted to our godly priorities according to God’s standards. We are wise when we follow God’s direction. In order to triumph over those crises, we must be willing to make some sincere changes and ask ourselves what adjustments need to be made so that God’s way is first choice. We must take the time to fine tune our lifestyle and create the necessary changes by making time to reflect and confess our sins to avoid skimming through life. We are encouraged in the scriptures to cast our cares before God, for he cares for us (1 PETER 5:7). We can’t do life in our own ability or strength; we must maintain our relationship, emotions and spiritual walk and time before God daily.

PRAYER:  Lord, I will wait quietly before you, for my victory comes from you. The fruit of my righteousness will be peace; and its effect will be quietness and confidence at all times. You are my hiding place and the one who gives me confidence, I ask that you protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance, in Jesus' name, amen.
