HEALING A BROKEN HEART

John 14:16

“And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world.

When a marriage is severed due to infidelity, it can cause so much pain emotionally; your heart feels like it’s been cut through with a knife. That’s because when God said “therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh-Genesis 2:24. God intended from the beginning that a husband and wife be intertwined in body, mind, and spirit.

Yes, we are individuals with certain characters, talents, and temperaments but we’re connected to our spouses spiritually and connected in our souls. That’s why a breech in the marriage is almost like tearing a piece of your own flesh away. You can’t just put a bandage over that torn piece of flesh and expect it to heal back; there has to be some kind of surgery or major repair to it. There are promises to hold on to in Psalm 34:18 it says, “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” Just like in a broken marriage, ignoring the problem, staying angry or unforgiving, or even not getting counseling or talking to a trusted person will not help. In Psalms 147:3 it says, He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” Jesus is the only One Who can make you whole again. Seeking godly counseling from a Pastor or Christian marriage counselor can help, and most of all, seek Jesus for wisdom and direction.
